LEAGUES
Teams are invited to participate in our Basketball leagues. These programs are very popular and have included teams from Nassau and Suffolk County. Leagues are available for all ages and skill levels.
CAMPS and CLINICS
Interstate Sports focuses on the development of the complete athlete. We provide expert instruction to players of all ages and talent levels who are trying to take their game to the next level. Camps are offered throughout the year and will teach sportsmanship, social skills and teamwork as well as the essential skills of the game. Our staff will Players, College Coaches, HS Coaches and College Players.
Tournaments are special events at Interstate Sports Academy. Many teams from across Long Island will participate in these tournaments. Our Basketball courts offer state of the art amenities, such as a game room, snack bar, ample restrooms, and much more.
Ask Jerry about his background and he humbly brushes it off to shift the focus onto what means most to him – developing basketball players. “It’s not about me, my background. It’s all about getting people better.”
And can he? For almost 20 years now, Jerry has been training kids from middle school to high school, through college and works out several leading NBA players. In the last four years, he developed four McDonald’s All-Americans and currently works out hundreds of players at Basketball Results. In 2008, for the first time he was rated 10/10 as trainer, ranking #1 in the country. He’s been on TV – Battle Ground Nike ’06 and Kobe Disciples, and you can catch him on YouTube. But no words or video can express the tireless dedication and energy that Jerry delivers when he’s working out his players on the court.
Jerry is the epitome of hard work, dedication and sacrifice. Some would even call him a basketball “genius.” His gift for training and enthusiasm he demonstrates with each and every work out has proved to be a combination for success. He always has had a deep passion for working hard and pushing himself to the limit with basketball development.
But Jerry doesn’t take anything for granted -in September 2001, doctors discovered a tumor on his spine and later he was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, lung disease.
Today, Jerry says he feels like he’s living a dream. “This is a gift from God – helping people with life through basketball.” Three things that he reminds kids are always to respect their parents, do the right thing in school, and work hard in life because you’re not guaranteed anything. He realizes that things take time, but if you do good work, you can reach your goals.
For the future, Jerry’s goal is to become the first Black Champion surfer.
